Assemblyman Reilich Appointed to Governor Paterson's Small Business Task Force

Albany, NY - Friday, August 14, 2009 (mcgop)
Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R, C, I - Greece) was appointed this week to the government regulations branch of Governor David Paterson’s Small Business Task Force.  The Governor’s task force has 60 members and four different groups which focus on government regulations, access to the capital, workforce development, and technical assistance.  The task force will focus on bettering existing state resources as well as developing new state resources that successfully address the concerns of small business owners.

“As the ranking member of the Assembly Minority Small Business Task Force, and a small business owner myself, I have led the charge by conducting over 35 small business task forces in every county of our state, with a goal of improving and revitalizing New York’s climate toward small business,” stated Reilich.  “Less government regulation and lower taxes are key to promoting a healthy small business environment. Fewer taxes on our businesses translate to more jobs for our communities.  I will keep these thoughts foremost in20my mind as I accept the position on the Governor’s task force, and I look forward to bringing my expertise in small business to the table, as we fight to make New York state business-friendly once again.”

The Governor’s task force will be partnering with government and non-government agencies to successfully address the concerns of small business owners in New York, which include reducing regulation, increasing access to financial capital, and developing technical assistance programs for the workforce to encourage job growth.
