Reilich Accepts Nomination for
New York's 134th Assembly District
"We must lower the tax burdens for all New Yorkers"
May 13, 2010
Assemblyman Bill Reilich (R, C, I Greece) tonight accepted the nomination to run for New York state’s 134th Assembly District, which includes the towns of Greece, Ogden and Sweden. Reilich was nominated by long time friend and Greece Republican Committee member, William Selke. Assured in Reilich’s ability to lead our state in the right direction was just one of the things Selke was confident about.
"New York is experiencing the worst economic and fiscal crisis we have seen in decades" Reilich stated. We must get our financial house in order and put an end to the out-of-control spending which is proposed year after year. I have never voted for any new tax increases or unfunded mandates since taking office, we cannot expect our hard working families and businesses to bear the brunt of frivolous spending by the Democratic Majority in Albany.
"Lowering taxes is and has been my top priority. The state must learn to live within its means instead, of taxing our families and mortgaging the futures of our children and grandchildren to feed its appetite for spending" Reilich said.
"When it comes to my family budget, we decide on spending which fits within our means. It should be no different for the State. I favor zero-based budgeting; we should start at square one and add in necessary services only, getting back to basics is the only way we can begin to set out on a path for future prosperity."
Reilich, a small business owner for over 28 years, knows too well the challenges small businesses face in New York and will continue to strive to make New York state more business friendly.
Assemblyman Reilich is married and has five children. He resides on Melwood Drive in the Town of Greece.
