Doorley Switches Jobs to Avoid Second Hatch Violation
Monroe County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Reilich today called on Democrat Sandra Doorley to return all illegally obtained campaign contributions raised while she was a candidate for County Court and served as First Assistant District Attorney – a position that the United States Special Counsel has ruled falls under a Federal Law prohibiting political activity.
"By switching jobs, Doorley has admitted she was in violation of the Hatch Act while campaigning for County Court. It’s unbelievable that, as a prosecutor, Sandra Doorley would willfully violate federal law and illegally raise campaign funds," said Chairman Reilich. "Doorley needs to do the right thing and return every donation she has received to date. Our community deserves better from someone hoping to be Monroe County's top prosecutor."
Reilich confirmed his office will be filing a formal complaint to federal authorities by the end of the day.
