Scuderi Announces His Candidacy for the
132nd Assembly District
April 29, 2010
Mark Scuderi today announced his candidacy for New York State Assembly in the 132nd District. He was joined by Monroe County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Reilich, Irondequoit Town Supervisor Mary Joyce D’Aurizio, and many other supporters from throughout the district.
“High taxes, out of control spending, and excessive regulation by Democrats in the State Legislature are the direct cause of the budget mess in Albany and are strangling the upstate economy,” Scuderi said. “As State Assemblyman, I will represent the hardworking taxpayers of the 132nd District by fighting for lower taxes and reining in State spending because we can no longer afford the status quo.”
Professionally, Scuderi has his MBA from the University of Miami and is a self-employed financial advisor in the Town of Irondequoit. Scuderi is best known for bringing the Soap Box Derby back to Rochester in 1995 when he re-established the Greater Rochester Soap Box Derby (GRSBD). Today, he continues to serve as President of the GRSBD and is also the regional director for the All-American Soap Box Derby in New York State. In addition, he is a member of the Irondequoit Kiwanis and the Collaborative Law Association of Rochester.
“I am proud to support Mark Scuderi because he is a strong candidate who understands the complex issues facing New York State,” Chairman Reilich said. “Mark is heavily invested in our community through his work with youth involved in the soap box derby and he is the type of person we need in the State Assembly.”
The 132nd District is made up of the Towns of Irondequoit and Brighton as well as portions of the City of Rochester.
